Every artist I know was affected by being sequestered in a time of universal high anxiety. Painting during the pandemic has been like taking selfies. Looking inward, doing what you feel like, recording what you see rather than what you think. At this point, like everything else in life, it's become the new normal. If I had to generalize, I'd say these paintings are more spontaneous, underthought rather than overthought. They are executed on Japanese and Chinese papers that do not allow a lot of surface modification.
